Welcome To the Sands Care Home

The Sands opened 20 years ago on the site of the old Grand Hotel. Purpose built and sympathetically designed to replicate The Grand and complement its surroundings. With jaw dropping sea views, it is perfect to sit back and spend time taking in the environment which will never disappoint at anytime of year. Here at The Sands, we provide accommodation for 96 residents with rooms over 4 floors. The ground floor is dedicated to residential care and the remaining 3 floors to nursing care.

Our Aim

Our aim is to provide 24 hour care by a very caring and professional team. We are very aware of each person’s individual needs both physically and mentally and take great care in allowing a person to express opinions and make decisions for themselves. We hope that all efforts combined provide a homely and happy atmosphere for everyone.

The Location

The Sands is located on Morecambe promenade, with panoramic views of the Bay and the Lakeland hills beyond. The perfect spot to watch the beautiful sunsets for which Morecambe is world famous. It is registered for 96 people [75 beds providing nursing care], of both sexes.

Rooms

All single bedrooms, most en-suite. All bedrooms are tastefully decorated and have a TV and nurse call. If residents wish they can bring some of their personal items of furniture.

Facilities

Each floor has its own large lounge and spacious dining room over-looking the Bay. Bath/shower rooms situated on all floors, easy wheelchair access throughout the building. Ground floor is Residential Care and the first, second and third floors are Nursing Care.
